As a result, one supported student progressed to university and is now pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. Another completed vocational training in mechanics and is now able to repair engines and earn an income.
Additionally, over the years, some children received mattresses, mosquito nets, and school supplies, and these items reduced illness, improved rest, and allowed children to attend school more consistently. Without these, many would have remained at risk of dropping out.
In one outreach, 300 children were fed, including school-going and vulnerable children. This addressed immediate hunger and supported school attendance. During COVID-19 disruptions, food support was extended to families, ensuring that children remained stable and were able to return to school when restrictions eased.
In addition, ministry teams conducted follow-up visits in Karamoja districts such as Moroto and Kotido. They engaged families, monitored progress, and ensured that support remained effective. This continuity strengthened the overall impact of the program.
TUPS has been very instrumental in making an impact in Karamoja, and we look forward to seeing more children healthy, attending school, and progressing through education levels.
