Salaama Blind School was established in 1999 with an initial enrollment of three girls who were integrated into a neighbouring primary school. In 2004, the Government constructed dedicated classroom facilities for Salaama Blind School, and the institution was officially registered in 2011.

Shalom Orphanage, also known as Shalom Reconciliation Ministry, is a Christian orphan care initiative located in Kotido District in the Karamoja region of Uganda. The orphanage serves vulnerable children and young people from the surrounding communities.
