In 2010, I started putting together some ideas about implementing this vision. I also started the process of registering CMM as an NGO; everything was at the start. During those days, Richard Byamugisha and Rachel Kalembe came to me and shared their personal vision and ministry plans, and they were very similar to what I was planning.
Now a team started forming. During those days, and prayerfully, the Lord led me into an adventure of “friend raising” fundraising, which was also new to me.
Through some friends in Victoria, I made a faith trip to Victoria, Canada, this time with the goal of raising partnerships, friends, supporters, and prayer partners for CMM. I had no concrete plans, but during those days I kept visiting and staying with a few friends’ families in Victoria. It was during those days, at one church meeting, that I got in touch with James and Jossie, who were also attending, for the first time, a similar fellowship at a church called “The Table Church,” sitting around round tables, taking cups of tea and coffee. I sat next to James DeGreef, and I then shared bits and pieces of my story as to why I was visiting Canada at that time.
James then introduced me to his family and church, and he and I shared ideas about putting together fundraising plans, which grew into TUPS (The Uganda Partnership Society) in 2012.
CMM and TUPS have worked together in partnership, with TUPS being on the supporting side, and together we have accomplished many things. Yet we are also looking to venture into a variety of ministries to fulfil the vision, “Loving God and loving people.”
CMM, working together with TUPS, is now serving the Lord and touching people’s lives in many areas and aspects, such as:
- Running a mobile Bible training school, teaching the inductive approach to Bible study to pastors and church leaders.
- Sharing the Gospel and sharing the love of Christ in many prisons in Uganda, including giving Bibles to prisoners and prison wardens.
- Helping pay school fees and parenting a number of children in many areas in Uganda.
- Conducting primary health care programs and business or income-generating programmes with many single mothers and grandmothers.
- Training Sunday school teachers.
- Community development programmes in various communities.
- Church seminars and discipleship training.
- Encouraging many young people into missions and encouraging upcoming church ministers.
- Working in partnership with many other ministries, such as the Kisoga Blind School, Elizabeth Centre, Shalom Reconciliation Ministries, Gulu Children Program, and Uganda Mountain Ministries.
- Encouraging discipleship training by giving out books to a variety of churches and ministries to read, learn, and grow more in ministry as they continue to serve God, and more.
- Working together with TUPS.
CMM and all the other sister ministries are looking forward to continuing to reach out to communities, churches, and individuals with the love of Christ—sharing the Gospel, teaching the Church, educating and parenting the young generation, and helping and supporting development in communities.
