Faith, Partnership, and Purpose with TUPS

I’m Byamugisha Richard, aged 46, married to Molly with 5 kids, living in Mbarara in Western Uganda. I am born again and have been serving God since my teenage years.

I started to know TUPS through Dan in 2012, and since then, many things have changed. TUPS then visited us in 2013 July and we had two weeks of the mission with them. During their very first mission visit, we visited Butaleja, Kagoma, Karamoja, Mukono and other parts of Wakiso and Kampala.

Many villages have benefited from medical camps like Buyuki, Kagoma, and Bwambara.

— Expanding Impact

TUP’s coming to Uganda and partnering with Christian Model Ministries has impacted me a lot in the following ways;

      • My mode of understanding scriptures changed through interaction with Pastor Jeff.
      • Through TUPS, I started different ministries in prisons, those with women, and the married.
      • My spiritual life also grew and matured with accountability.

    Additionally, TUPS has been beneficial to the people around me in the following ways;

      • Communities in Mbarara have been provided with their physical needs like clothes, food, and a church in Karugangama has received some sports gear, computers, and music systems, through TUPS.
      • Many villages have benefited from medical camps like Buyuki, Kagoma, and Bwambara.
      • Karamoja kids have been educated, with one now finishing university.
      • Women in Karugangama, Mbarara, have benefited from the Goats project, small-scale savings, piggery, and chicken projects, an initiative TUPS started to help communities generate an income and be able to afford basic needs.
      • Prisons have greatly benefited from vocational equipment such as sewing machines that have upskilled prisoners and helped them reintegrate in the communities with more skills, upon their release.

    THE FUTURE PLANS AFTER BEING PART OF TUPS

      1. I hope to see the rise of so many missionaries in Uganda
      2. I look forward to a HOPE CENTRE that will help prisoners upon release have a welcoming reception that connects them to the community. It will equip them with social, religious and vocational skills.
      3. I pray for the BOY CHILD empowerment centre that can help boys talk, develop and grow into MEN of substance.
      4. I also wish to have a mission centre where missionaries can be hosted, prayed for and equipped for the work of God.

    TUPS has been a great inspiration in my life, and I pray for continued support so we can grow together as brethren.
